Feed the Ducks at Los Encinos State Historic Park

Los Encinos State Historic Park is a charming (mostly unknown) destination, conveniently near Balboa Blvd. on VenturaEncino, where you can step back in time in their historic buildings and enjoy a picnic on their well maintained grass. The best part? A spring fed lake (clean, fresh water!) with geese, swan, and ducks. Purchase a little paper bag of feed for 25 cents, and throw the grain through the fence to the birds. Safe, clean, shady, green. Aaaahhh.

For a real treat, come on a Sunday during a "Living History" day to see a blacksmith in action, hear period music, and tour the grounds.
