Naughty Mommy! Sweet Treats at Galco's
Soda and Candy for Days

Tucked away on a sleepy main street in Highland Park is Galco's Grocery Store.

Made famous by devotees like Huell Howser and online fans, this L.A. institution is home to hundreds of soda varieties.  Don't tell your dentist, but this is the perfect place to bring the child who has discovered the joys of candy and soda.

Many of the soda brands are "retro" flavors using original recipes that are still made at small bottling companies in North America.  Throw into the mix some modern boutique and small batch brands, and you've got a collection to die for!  Grape, strawberry, grapefruit, lemon, cream soda, root beer, ginger ale, chocolate, the list goes on.  You can purchase the bottle individually or in six  packs.

In addition to the soda, Galco's stocks an assortment of old fashioned and retro candy.  A family favorite? Pop Rocks!

In the back of the simply decorated store is the deli counter, where the bullet sandwich was made famous.  You're not going to want to share this Italian classic piled high with meat and cheese!
After you've stocked up on enough goodies for birthday presents and stocking stuffers, grab your lunch and head down the highway two exits for a picnic lunch at the Audobon Society's Debs Park.
